Krabi befindet sich in Süd-Thailand, etwa 800 Kilometer südlich von Bangkok, Thailands Kapital. Ko Pi Pi ist eine beliebte und begehrte kleine Insel, die sich im Westen Thailands befindet. Ko Pipihat seinen guten Ruf durch den Film “The Beach” – “Der Strand” mit Leonardo Di Caprio erhalten, denn genau dort wurde der Film gedreht.

Posted in Island Travel by Island TravelIf you are looking for a perfect mixture of breath-taking sceneries, near deserted white sea-shores, great marinas phuket, sumptuous cuisines, warm weather all the year round, friendly natives and a lot to explore and discover, there is a place in the South-east Asia known as the Baramabay private island or the phuket island. It is an 80 hectare island located in the eastern coast of Phuket. The travelers have two options to reach the Jumeirah island, either they can drive for 15 minutes from the Phuket International Airport, take a water taxi and travel for 3 minutes to the Baramabay private island, or they can choose the classier and faster alternative to reach the Jumeirah island which is a 5 minutes helicopter ride directly from the airport to the helipad of the island.

Posted in Island Travel by Island TravelIf you were to say to someone in Maine that you were taking the ferry to Long Island to visit public gardens, they would look at you and think, “What public gardens?” They would conjure up images of an outpost in Casco Bay populated by people who fish for a living and have little time to garden, and by summer residents who might have a small vegetable garden, flower bed or hedgerow of rugosa rose. But public gardens? There are none to be found. It’s a simple place where the word “ostentatious” isn’t used very often. I like Long Island, Maine — my kind of people and my kind of gardens.
Hello From Sicily – Eolian Islands – Here We Come!
Posted in Island Travel by Island TravelFollowing my last day in Taormina and my arrival last night in Milazzo I caught a good rest to get up early today to repack my suitcase and remove a number of items that I was not going to need on my sailing trip through the Eolian Islands. This will be my first sailing trip ever, and it will be combined with Italian language studies, offered by a Milazzo-based language school called Laboratorio Linguistico. A very unique concept, although now I was a little nervous, wondering I would get seasick, or whether I was going to have decent ship mates. Various thoughts of uncertainty were swirling through my head.
